Doss Closet- The Worlds First Op-Shop Bar!

Doss Closet- The Worlds First Op-Shop Bar!

Last year, East 9th Brewing received unprecedented support from over 50 of Australia’s hospo venues, liquor retailers, and their staff to raise more than $50,000 for Polished Man by painting a nail blue to help end violence against children.
This year, the Doss Blockos Polished Man team is going one step further. The team has joined forces with Melbourne bar royalty, Jerome Borazio (of the famed St Jerome’s/Laneway Festival) and his team at Lickety Split (local staple Melbourne’s West) to launch ‘Doss Closet’- a dedicated ‘op-shop bar’, where clothing proceeds are donated to Polished Man.

“Josh (of East 9th Brewing) and I opened Chinese Restaurant a few years back and had an amazing time doing it, so we jumped at the opportunity to work the East 9th team on this project” said Jerome.
“Our East 9th gang have organised a few ‘op-Shop’ parties in the past…raising money for local Melbourne charities, and we always thought that the idea of an ‘Op-Shop Bar’ would be fun- so we’re super excited to have Jerome and his crew along for the ride” Josh Lefers of East 9th said.

Inside Doss Closet, the walls are lined with second-hand clothes, (donated kindly by people from all over Melbourne), blue wash lighting (as a nod to the Polished Man cause), and it also contains Melbourne’s first SHUFL tables (the fun and addictive game Shuffleboard is a growing world-wide ‘bar-sport’ trend). Get down this October for the fun and games, the op-shopping and Doss Blockos (all for a great cause of course!)…
Located inside Lickety Split at 38-40 Moreland Street in Footscray, the Doss Closet bar will be opening on September 26, from Thurs-Sunday from 4pm until late

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more news on Doss Closet!
